As a translator of Italian literature, my focus has always been on novels and short stories, but I have also translated political essays, children’s literature, art books, guidebooks, cookbooks, and books that address spiritual matters. I am a long-time member of PEN America, ALTA, and CGIL Strade. Born in Paris, I grew up in Beirut, Jeddah, London, and Boston. I studied Comparative Literature at Mills College and UC Berkeley; I earned a Master's degree in Italian from Columbia University; and I have a Master's in Adolescent Education from Pace University. I currently live in Turin, Italy.
