As a translator of Italian literature, my focus has always been on novels and short stories, but I've also translated works of non-fiction, children’s literature, art books, guidebooks, cookbooks, and books that address spiritual matters. From time to time, I translate samples and write reader reports for publishing companies and literary agents. I am a long-time member of PEN America, ALTA, and STRADE. I was born in Paris and grew up in Beirut, Jeddah, London, Boston, and Oakland. I studied Comparative Literature at Mills College and UC Berkeley, and I earned a Master's degree in Italian from Columbia University and a Master's in Adolescent Education from Pace University. New York City was home for fifteen years; I'm currently based in Turin, Italy.
